Property link setting:

In SOLIDWORKS drawings, there are properties for the file itself and properties of the model/s contained inside the drawing views. In this instance, the link is established with the properties of the electric current cartoon file. The holding link referred to here is "Current document."

See example figure below showing a SOLIDWORKS cartoon file and the custom property created for it – "DocumentProperty." The evaluated value for this custom property is "This is a certificate property."

In the next figure below, discover the "Clarification" in the championship block. This annotation is linked to the file custom property named "DocumentProperty." If you hover over the annotation in the sail format, you will encounter the grayness box announced showing "$PRP:'DocumentProperty.'" Some other way to see the link property setting is to edit the sheet format, right mouse click on the annotation, and cull "Edit text in window" from context bill of fare. $PRPSHEET – Link to properties of the model for the called view in the sheet properties

Property link setting:

In SOLIDWORKS drawings, you tin can setup sheet properties such as canvas name, scale, and type of projection (get-go angle or third angle). One of the settings is "Use custom property values from model shown in." Basically select the view on the drawing where the notes/annotations pull the values from the model contained within. This belongings link maps to a specific model component custom holding value within an assembly. For example, the battery office shown in figure below has a series of custom properties associated with it. Notice the value for "sw_model_description."

The following figure below shows an exploded assembly view in a SolidWorks cartoon. I of the model components of that associates is an "AA battery." A note was created and linked to a specific custom property for the bombardment component – "sw_model_description."

This type of property link is ordinarily seen in drawings with views showing office or all of an assembly. The note will point to a sure belongings value for i of the assembly parts displayed through the view.

$PRPVIEW – Link to properties for a model in a selected cartoon view.

Hovering over the annotation will cause a greyness box to announced with the custom property name associated with $PRPVIEW. In this instance, the gray box contains "$PRPVIEW:'Description" of Base_.'" Instead of hovering over the notation, right mouse click on it and cull "Edit text in window."

Conclusion

For this mail, the fundamental differences for $PRP, $PRPSHEET, $PRPMODEL, and $PRPVIEW linked backdrop have been explored in detail.
